Welcome

We are a voluntary charitable organisation who exist to enhance the facilities and opportunities of the children who attend Debenham High School.  We are a group of parents who enjoy our time at the heart of this lovely school community.  We strive to bring the school, families and the local community together for the benefit of all.  We meet 4-5 times a year (in person and via Teams) to organise a number of fundraising events.  

"The Friends of Debenham High School" is a Registered Charity No 1019030.

 We're members of the National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations (NCPTA).  This is our NCPTA Model Constitution.

fundraising for their future

We fundraise to support the school to purchase classroom and sports equipment and below are ways you can support us to achieve this :

    • Easyfundraising - Do you shop online?  Sign up and select The Friends of Debenham High School as your chosen charity.  As you shop, your favourite brands will donate to The Friends of Debenham High School at no cost to you.
    • Contributions - Throughout the year we organise various auctions and raffles.  Could you or your business make a donation?  It could be vouchers or goods from your business or a new, unwanted gift or bottle of wine.  Simply drop in at reception.
    • Donations- Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference.  Donations can be made via your child's School Gateway account.
    • Sponsorship/Gift Matching - Are you interested in sponsorship opportunities?  You may want to sponsor a whole school event, or one specific to a curriculum area or does your employer offer a gift matching scheme?  Some businesses match whatever employees raise and we'd love to hear from you.
    • If you are thinking of selling your house- Palmers & Partners Estate Agents will donate £250 if Debenham High School is mentioned at time of instruction and the sale reaches completion.

PRE-LOVED UNIFORM

  • As our school community reaches far beyond the boundaries of our local village we wanted to provide a more accessible, convenient and inclusive approach to our nearly new uniform shop.  
  • Not only are you buying quality pre-loved school uniform, you are also helping us to raise funds for your school (and every piece of uniform re-used means one less item going to landfil!).
  • DHS/fods-recycled-uniform-store or use the QR code below.
  • We are using a free app and can only accept 10 payments a month. Once this limit is reached the form is disabled.  Please then email us with any requests and we will do our best to assist you.
  • As a school we have a strong recycling culture and to keep the shop well stocked, we would be very grateful for more good quality donations.  Please drop any items of uniform that are in a good usable condition and which may be of use to someone else to the front office at school and the Friends of Debenham will collect and prepare the items to add to our online shop.
  • The second-hand shop would not function successfully without your support and it is very much appreciated. If we can be of any assistance please contact us on friends@debenhamhigh.co.uk.

OUR ACHIEVEMENTS

We are proud of our achievements which would not have been possible without the help and participation of many of our school pupils, parents, carers, teachers and friends and the generosity of local businesses.  We have listed a few recent achievements and are delighted to have recently donated £5,000 to the school towards the purchase of a new mini bus - which has now arrived!
